Women are more careful with their cash
According to the IFP, almost two thirds of people surveyed in a recent YouGov poll claimed that they are more careful with their cash now than they were a year ago - however the balance has swung firmly in favour of savings-savvy women.
Just 60 per cent of men questioned in the survey said they were more frugal now when compared to a year ago. For women this figure was 67 per cent - showing that they are more likely to seek out the best savings rates.
Nick Cann, chief executive officer of IFP, said: "It is great to see that so many people have changed their habits over the last year, and are being more careful with their money."
The survey was conducted to coincide with the start of Financial Planning Week - which kicked-off yesterday and runs until Sunday November 28th.
The finance event was created by IFP in conjunction with National Savings & Interest.
