Van insurer urges businesses to expand their fleets
A specialist van and motorhome insurance firm has claimed that now could be a good time for firms to consider expanding their fleet.
According to Staveley Head, investment in a new fleet can actually save firms money as they can avoid paying excessive mileage expenses to employees who use their own vehicle for business purposes.
The firm said that another benefit of having a dedicated fleet of cars or vans is that companies can guarantee that their vehicles are roadworthy, correctly taxed and insured.
A spokesperson for Flintshire-based Staveley Head said: "With many businesses struggling at the moment, the cost savings which are to be had by investing in an in-house fleet of vehicles make it a sensible option.
"The example of public sector organisations, who have managed to slash costs by employing a fleet is one which the private sector would be wise to follow."
They added that fleet vehicles are always more closely monitored than private vehicles and are also likely to be more environmentally friendly.
Meanwhile, recent research from America showed that using nitrogen to inflate company car tyres helps improve pressure retention improving handling and durability.
