Van insurance provider announces expansion plans
A Staffordshire-based van insurer has seen its workload increase to the extent that it is taking on an extra 200 staff.
According to the Sentinel, Autonet Insurance which operates from Burslem, Stoke-on-Trent will raise its employee headcount from 400 to 600 over the next six months to reflect service demand.
Finance director Craig Ball said the business, which also offers car insurance and other cover products, was continuing to expand despite the recession.
He stated: "We've grown 50 per cent year-on-year for the past six years, and as we move forward we're looking to recruit more staff.
"We're probably one of the largest employers in the city and we have always taken on local people."
Autonet explains that where a van is being used to transport goods or passengers on any public road, commercial van insurance is a necessity.
