Triodos launches online saving account

Triodos launches online saving account
Triodos, the ethical bank, has launched an easy access online savings account offering competitive savings interest rates.

The new online savings account will pay a rate of two per cent and also include a one per cent bonus for the first 12 months.

Those who invest in the Triodos savings account will be able to see exactly where their money is being invested through the bank's dedicated website.

Savings deposits will be used exclusively to finance organisations delivering positive environmental, social or cultural impact, such as Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall's businesses.

Huw Davies, head of personal banking at Triodos Bank, said: "We all know that a good interest rate and access are important for savers, and our new product provides this."

He added that Triodos customers have the further benefit of knowing that their money is being invested in ethical companies which are trying to make the world a better place.

According to a recent Lloyds TSB survey, Brits are looking to save an extra £620 million this year.
