The Share Centre’s Share of the Week
Company: Tullow Oil Share price: 1123.0p Sector: Oil and Gas Producers
Recommendation: Buy
Risk category: High
Investment class: Growth
Opinion:
There is constant news flow from the group as they lobby hard for the Ugandan government to allow Tullow to take over the assets of Heritage Oil in the country.
If successful they will own three license blocks containing the Lake Albert discoveries, a third of which would then be sold.
After a strong share price performance in 2009 we lowered Tullow to a hold, taking the view that a lot of the good news was already in the share price along with the uncertainty of the ongoing negotiations with the Ugandan government.
News from Uganda is expected in the next few weeks and with the share price down we now return the group to the buy list.
