Santander offers benefits to savers

Santander offers benefits to savers
Businesses looking for the best savings interest rates may wish to check out Santander's latest current account.

The account, which is designed for small businesses, pays a fixed interest rate of five per cent for the first 12 months on balances up to £2,500.

Santander's new business account also offers £100 cashback for people looking to switch their account as well as free day-to-day banking and no monthly fee.

Paula Ickinger, product executive for Santander business banking, said: "Small businesses are the lifeblood of the UK economy, so we are delighted to launch a business current account with one of the best rates on the market."

She added that the dedicated switching team will ensure the process of switching to Santander will be as smooth as possible.

The bank recently increased the eligibility for its first fee-free current account to those with £10,000 or more in savings, meaning that the account can now be accessed by 70 per cent of the UK's adult population.
