Santander Cards wins prestigious industry award

Santander Cards wins prestigious industry award
Santander Cards has been voted Best Cards Provider in the 2009 Personal Finance Awards.

Now in their eleventh year, the awards aim to recognise achievements and celebrate new initiatives within the industry.

Santander Cards saw off competition from Capital One, Halifax, Lloyds TSB and Virgin among others in this category, being rewarded for its long-term value, commitment to product development, understanding of consumer needs, and customer service.

Roger Lovering, managing director of Santander Cards, said the firm was delighted to have been named Best Cards Provider for the second year running.

He added: "Since bringing our cards offering back in house, we have strived to fulfil our promise of innovation and commitment to our customers' needs, aiming at all times to offer added value through our products."

Mr Lovering said that both Santander Zero and the Santander Credit Card are "enduring successes" that continue to evolve with the group's customers' needs.

"We have used highly creative marketing strategies, the optimisation of internal channels and consumer research to create a truly customer focused environment," he added.

Last week, David Black of Defaqto told the Times that consumers seeking the best credit card deals must seek to improve their credit history.ADNFCR-2088-ID-19472772-ADNFCR
