Saffron launches new saver account
Consumers looking for the
best savings rates this Christmas will be interested to hear that Saffron Building Society has launched a new limited edition Christmas saver account.
The regional building society, which serves East Anglia, will provide savers with the equivalent of a 14.49 per cent rate of interest.
Savers are being encouraged to reduce the cost of Christmas 2011 by saving a small sum of money each month, which will make the cost of Christmas easier to bare.
Customers can pay £50 a month into the account for 11 months and at the end of the term their savings will be converted into £550 worth of Love2Shop vouchers which Saffron will boost with an extra £40.
John Eastgate, sales and marketing director at Saffron Building Society, said: "With the publication of recent statistics suggesting that two millions Britons are still paying for last Christmas, it’s clear that many families would benefit from the incentive to start saving earlier."
The new account is strictly limited to the first 1000 applicants and can be opened in one of Saffron's branches.
