People are impatient with their finances, study finds

People are impatient with their finances, study finds
Almost seven in ten UK adults dream of the holiday of a lifetime, but fewer than half are contributing to accounts with good savings interest rates in order to pay for it.

Standard Life revealed that while 70 per cent of people want a luxury holiday within the next five years, the same number are not so active in tackling their finances to make sure it happens.

In a poll the firm found that while people are willing to wait for an expensive break, few people apply the same principles to money and regularly contribute to funds in accounts with good savings interest rates.

"The question for providers and advisers is how do we encourage more people to plan their finances further ahead, so they remain financially secure - and if they are dreaming of retiring in luxury or heading off on a round the world tour one day, they can make it happen," explained Standard Life's John Lawson.

Santander has meanwhile launched a new fixed rate Isa range offering returns of up to 3.70 per cent.ADNFCR-2088-ID-800566753-ADNFCR
