Leeds Building Society has launched a Fixed Rate Postal Bond paying 6.25% AER (6.17% gross p.a.) - customers having access to all of their funds at any time without notice or penalty.

The bond, fixed through January 1st 2009, comes with minimum investment of £1,000 - maximum investment £50,000 (£100,000 for joint accounts).

Additional investments to this postal only account can only be made whilst the bond remains open.

At maturity this product will automatically convert to a Maturity Tracker Bond, which is guaranteed to track Bank of England Base Rate (currently 5.00%) up to and including May 31st 2010.

Interest in this case is paid annually commencing May 31st 2009 and on maturity (May 31st 2010).

Minimum investment is £1,000 - maximum investment £50,000 (£100,000 joint accounts).
