House market optimism 'is increasing'
People looking for a
cheap mortgage rate may have reason to be optimistic, according to the Little House Company.
Jane Marr, director at the firm, said that although February has been a quiet month for sales, there has been an increase in the number of people looking to sell their homes, creating a feeling of optimism in the housing market.
"People need to get on with their lives and we are seeing more research, valuations and enquiries on how to sell their homes more cheaply," she told prospective buyers.
More research is being done by buyers and sellers into house prices, she said, and many buyers may be looking to get a
cheap mortgage while the market is slow.
Average house prices in the UK increase by 0.3 per cent in February, according to statistics from the latest LSL Property Services/Acadametrics house price index.
However, average house value has decreased overall by 0.5 per cent in the last year.
