Homeowners happy to boast of DIY

Homeowners happy to boast of DIY
New research has revealed to those seeking cheap mortgages that happy homeowners boast about their property value.

Clydesdale and Yorkshire Banks revealed that one in ten homeowners will host a dinner party purely to show off a DIY success, while one in six will invite friends and family around to see home improvements.

It found that Brits need very little excuse to show off changes they have made to their home in order to add value.

Some 16 per cent of Brits would host a dinner party to show off a garden makeover, while just slightly fewer would invite people over to see a new kitchen or bathroom.

"It's great to see that homeowners are thinking about adding value to their properties in order to take the next step on the property ladder," Steve Reid, retail director for Clydesdale and Yorkshire Banks, told people looking for cheap mortgages.

However, the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors said that people embarking on buying a house should take a survey in order to avoid surprise costs later down the line.ADNFCR-2088-ID-800607086-ADNFCR
