Flux offers advice on reducing motor insurance premiums

Motorists often have a number of options to reduce their insurance premiums, it has been suggested.

According to Adrian Flux Insurance Services, young drivers especially tend to pay too much for vehicle cover.

The firm advises comparing quotes between insurers before purchasing a policy – a suggestion which alludes to the use of online comparison services.

"Searching online can be very effective, but beware of web quotes that seem too good to be true – check they are comparing like for like," it suggested.

Choosing the right vehicle, taking the Pass Plus driving test, increasing the excess paid and joining an owner's club can also help knock a few pounds of insurance premiums, Flux added.

"All it takes is a bit of common sense to cut the figure in half," said the firm's operations director Gerry Bucke.

According to Caravan Wise, drivers who can demonstrate they are low risk may be able to access cheap motorhome insurance.
