Country house market is 'strong'
The housing market for country properties is still active and competitively priced, Fine & Country Homes told those seeking a
cheap mortgage.
Hadley Lyas, director at the company, said that houses in the countryside which are "sensibly" priced are still receiving plenty of viewings and offers.
"Where the properties are sticking in the market is when clients or vendors are wanting to try and push a price too high. Those sorts of houses will obtain viewings, but they won't necessarily achieve any offers," he explained to people in the market for a
cheap mortgage.
His comments follow a report by Buying Solution which revealed that the prime property market, which includes country houses that are valued between £1.5 million and £3 million, is performing particularly strongly.
Mr Lyas agreed with the findings but added that anything over that price bracket may encounter difficulties selling, unless it offered something very unique.
