Cheap mortgages give access to 'extraordinary' buy-to-let market
Confidence still remains in the buy-to-let market among those seeking
cheap mortgages, according to an industry expert.
Roger Southam, chairman and chief executive of Chainbow, said that it is still "moving apace", while there are also a log of institution investors who are starting to look at the private rented sector as a good investment opportunity.
"So, we tend to stay abreast in terms of where things are but the strength and continuing run of it is just the most extraordinary thing. Over the last ten to 15 years, the indices all show that residential has been about the best performing asset class from a renting point of view," he went on to say.
Recently, buy-to-let was described as having a "revolutionising effect" on the property market.
John Heron, marketing manager of Paragon, said that standards have dramatically improved, as has the amount of choice available to buyers who have secured cheap mortgages.
