Cheap insurance 'is available for young drivers'

Young drivers may be able to take a number of steps towards accessing the cheapest motor insurance deals.

According to industry commentator Sharon Gibson, the majority of motor insurance vendors offer discounts to student drivers who appear to fall into lower-risk categories.

Writing for Your Online Insurance, she suggested that being studious and earning good grades can lead to a reduction in premiums, but most important is demonstrating safety as a driver.

"Not receiving any traffic violations will help keep your premiums lower," she added.

"Picking the right type of car, having good credit history, and living in a low-risk area will also all reduce the amount you pay."

The Caravan Club warns drivers that the cheapest motorhome insurance deals may not always be the best.

It claims that motorists should always look out for low price deals, but make sure they are receiving quality protection at the same time.
