Brits seek out advice about rising fuel bills

Brits seek out advice about rising fuel bills
Homeowners shopping around for the best savings interest rates are in a favourable position as many Brits are struggling to make ends meet.

Gillian Guy, chief executive at Citizens Advice, said that in the past month alone the organisation has seen a huge hike in the number of people ringing to voice concerns about the rising cost of heating their homes.

She explained that the plethora of tariffs makes things no easier for customers.

"Having over 400 different energy tariffs on offer causes a lot of confusion for customers. Hikes in fuel costs are causing serious worries for our clients," Ms Guy said.

"Double the amount of people came to us [last month] for online advice on cutting their fuel bills compared to last year," she added.

Hannah Mummery, energy expert at Consumer Focus, said that people should consider switching supplier in order to save money which they could contribute to accounts with the best interest rates. ADNFCR-2088-ID-800761812-ADNFCR
