Brits can 'easily boost income'
There are plenty of ways for Brits considering payday loans to boost their income, according to an expert.
Ed Bowsher, head of consumer finance at lovemoney.com, said that if people are feeling the pinch they should be proactive about increasing their income.
"See if you could work as a dog walker – you could earn as much as £10 an hour. You could also flog all the stuff you have but you don't need. You could either go to a car boot sale or sell your stuff online via sites such as eBay," he said.
Mr Bowsher also suggested that old mobile phones could be particularly lucrative, with websites such as Envirofone or sellmymobile.com paying out for previous handsets.
His comments follow research by Scottish Widows, which revealed that money is the biggest conversation taboo for Brits, with 43 per cent unwilling to discuss their finances with friends.
However, this may be changing as 18 to 34 year old are more likely to discuss their money with friends and family.
