Barclays Wealth launches regular income bond

Barclays Wealth launches regular income bond
Barclays Wealth has announced the introducing of a new regular income bond, which offers customers very competitive savings interest rates.

Savers looking to secure a competitive fixed income will be delighted to hear that the new bond pays a rate of 5.75 per cent per annum.

The FTSE-linked product offers customers the option of either a fixed annual payment or a monthly income over a six-year period paying 0.47 per cent.

Lisa Chaudhuri, vice president at Barclays Wealth, said: "Our regular income bond helps to bridge the gap between low return/low risk and high return/high risk investments, offering a competitive fixed income while providing a significant level of headroom for a potential fall in the level of the FTSE before initial capital is put at risk."

Investors' capital will be lost if at any time during the term the FTSE falls to a level more than 50 per cent below its starting level and is below the starting level at maturity.

The bank recently introduced the Barclays Wealthbuilder, a deposit account linked to the FTSE 100 index which aims to provide investors with a maximum return of 31.2 per cent after six years.
