Bank of Scotland offers mortgage customers housewarming present

Borrowers looking for the best mortgage rates may want to take a look at the products on offer at RBS as the bank is offering a housewarming gift for each of its mortgage customers.

As autumn begins to set in and Brits turn their heating back on, the bank has pledged to pay £500 towards gas and electricity bills, which can be claimed within six months of a mortgage completing.

Carol Anderson, head of mortgages at Bank of Scotland, said: "We are committed to helping make homeownership easier for first-time buyers, homemovers and remortgagers alike.

Customers who take out a new mortgage or remortgage between October 4th and November 15th will be eligible to receive the offer.

The money will be paid directly to the energy supplier on provision of a current utility bill and is available directly in branch, online or by phone.
