A Christmas Credit Card Cracker

Although the summer holidays have only just ended, Christmas will already be on the minds of many and the majority of those will be wondering how they are going to pay for it. Undoubtedly most will attempt to tighten their belts and cut the amount being spent and others will resort to using the plastic to pay for it all.

If you are planning on using your credit card then make sure your smart when you’re using it. The credit card market is very competitive at the moment so depending on your credit rating then you’re bound to find a credit card to suit your needs and come with some great benefits. Below are a couple of cracker credit cards which will help you when preparing for Christmas.

For those of us who already have a balance on their credit card and want to use it for purchases then one of the best Purchase and Balance transfer cards on the market is the Virgin 13/13 Credit Card which gives you 13 months 0% on balance transfers and 13 months 0% on purchases, so whatever you buy in the run up to Christmas you won’t be charged interest on until next summer.

Spreading the cost of Christmas over a longer period of time is a sensible way of ensuring you have a great Christmas without the debt hangover. Using a 0% on purchases card is a great way of budgeting for Christmas and spreading the payments over a longer period of time. The Tesco Clubcard Credit card gives you 0% on purchases for 15 months and if you use it to spend in store then you can also collect Clubcard points which will earn your discounts on items from Tesco.

Most of the time it is much easier and sometimes cheaper to buy your gifts online, if this is your cunning plan then the Capital One Click Card could make the whole process much easier still. It is designed to offer you exclusive access to great brand discounts and also enhanced security when shopping online.

Finding the right credit card and being smart when your using it can make Christmas a much less of a worry and take a much smaller toll on your finances in the new year.
