Take (Investment) Note of Barclays

Additional Services

Barclays Stockbrokers has announced the launch of a new Investment Note - the 5-year FTSE 100 Accelerated Return Investment Note eligible to be held within an Investment ISA or SIPP. Linked to the performance of the FTSE 100 Index, the minimum investment is £500.

The Note offers investors a one-off return equal to 75% if, at the end of the 5-year term, the Index is equal to, or higher than, the Initial level.

As a Structured Capital-at-risk Product (SCARP), it's also designed to pay back investors' initial capital at maturity. However, if the Index falls by more than 40% from the Initial level (i.e. to less than 60% of the Initial level) at any point during the 5 year term and the Final level is not equal to, or higher than the Initial level by the Final Valuation Date, then your capital return will be reduced by 1% for every 1% the Final level is lower than the Initial level. This means that you may get back less than you invested.

The offer period runs through April 11th. The Initial level meanwhile will be set on the same date. Final Valuation date is April 11th 2013.
