Effective immediately, new NatWest credit card customers can take advantage of 13 months interest free on balance transfers and 6 months interest free on purchases.
NatWest is offering a 'go-to' rate of a typical 12.9% APR (variable). And the bank's current account holders can enjoy an even better go-to rate of a typical 11.9% APR (variable) when applying for a new credit card. Balance transfer fees meanwhile vary from 2.5-2.9%.
The Royal Bank of Scotland is following suit, also offering new credit card customers 0% on balance transfers for 13 months and six months interest free on purchases.
The card will offer a go-to rate of 12.9% APR (variable) with current account holders able to enjoy a typical 11.9% APR (variable). Again, balance transfer fees vary from 2.5-2.9%.
Meanwhile MINT - the RBS unit - is offering new credit card customers 0% on balance transfers until March 1st 2009, and 0% on purchases until August 1st 2008.
In addition, customers have the opportunity of a bonus offer if looking to transfer balances during the month of June 2009 interest free till December 1st 2009. The new go-to rate is a typical 12.9% APR (variable) with a balance transfer fee of 2.9%.
Current account holders who have one of the following packaged accounts - NatWest Advantage Gold, RBS Royalties, RBS Royalties Gold, RBS Royalties Premier and both RBS and NatWest Private Banking customers - can apply for a Private Banking credit card and qualify for the 11.9% APR variable rate.
All credit cards offer up to 56 days interest free if a customer pays their balance in full and on time and has paid the previous months balance in full and on time.
