Sainsbury's Bank extends 0% offer

Additional Services

Sainsbury's Bank has announced that it has increased its offer of 0% APR on purchases, on its Standard and Platinum credit cards, from 10 months to 12 months.

The bank's own research into credit cards offering interest free periods on purchases found the number of cards giving 0% on introductory purchases rose by 93% over the past 3 years from 75 to 145. However, the number of cards offering so-called 'long-term' interest free periods of 10 months or longer, fell by 36% from 11 in August 2004, to just 7 in August 2007.

In addition to the 0% deal the Bank's Platinum card also offers a lifetime rate of 5.94% for balances transferred within the first 6 months and will not charge a balance transfer fee.

Meanwhile, cardholders can also manage their accounts online using the 24/7 payment service.
