Telephone Insurance

In the last decade, there's been a trend towards insurers providing contents, building and motor cover over the telephone. Most of these companies offer service direct to policybuyers.

They claim that because they keep their running costs under control, using the latest technology, and because they don't pay commission to middlemen, they can undercut traditional channels of delivering insurance.

Some telephone banking services are also provided by brokers who claim they will research the market before coming up with 'their' best quote.
