An execution-only service is designed for investors who dont require advice but do need a stockbroker to buy and sell shares for them.
There is no element of advice or management in this service and so the costs of transacting business are generally lower than with the other services.
A number of private client stockbrokers are specialists in this area and offer low cost execution of orders efficiently and quickly. Their clients know exactly what they want to do and simply require an effective "no frills" service. Many other brokers also provide "execution-only" facilities in addition to discretionary and advisory services.
The development of the Internet and the increased popularity of nominee accounts means there is no longer any need for human contact with a broker.
