Partly-paid Shares

Additional Services

Partly-Paid shares refer to shares of which only part of the nominal value has been paid. Usually issues of partly-paid shares are made in the case of rights issues, allowing shareholders to pay for the new shares by instalments over several months.

Many people will be familiar with partly-paid shares through the use of this technique in most of the major privatisations under the Conservative government in the 1980s.
