The Land Registry is the government department responsible for maintaining and updating the register of all properties in England & Wales with registered titles. The head office is in London with district registries around the country.
A Land Registry certificate provides details of the property including a plan and, if the property is leasehold , a copy of the lease.
A Land Registry fee is payable to the Land Registry to register ownership of a property.
