Collective investments are funds which take money from a number of private investors and pool them together. Collective investments are run by professional fund managers who will then use their skills to make investments that should increase the value of the funds under management.

Unit trusts , Investment Trusts and Open Ended Investments Companies (OEICS) are examples of collective or pooled investments.
