Best Execution

Additional Services

Best execution - also known as "at best" - is the London Stock Exchange rule which puts an obligation on any dealer in the market to carry out a transaction on behalf of his client at the best possible price available in the market at the time of the deal.

For a seller this means the highest possible selling price and for a buyer, the lowest possible buying price. The effectiveness of the rule is monitored through SEAQ - the stock exchange automated quotation system.
