Virgin Money prides itself on the length of interest free period that applies to its trendily-marketed credit cards. The Virgin credit card offer 0% interest for the first 16 months on all balance transfers - although a handling fee applies.

Virgin Money credit cards also offer 0 per cent on all new purchases for a period of three months. You will also get up to 3 months interest-free on your credit card purchases as long as you repay your balance in full - and on time - every month.

And in addition to the 16-month 0% deals on balance transfers and three-month interest-free period on all new purchases the card comes with other incentives such as discounts on other Virgin products and services.

The interest free credit cards carry a very top limit of £50,000 but qualifying for that level would be rare.

To be eligible for the Virgin Money credit card you have to be over 18 live in the UK and have a bank or building society account. To actually qualify for the Virgin credit card you will need a reasonable salary, low outstanding debt and a sufficiently-robust credit rating.

Virgin Money is offering the best balance transfer offer in the UK with their Virgin credit card. It beats anything else on the credit card market because it offers an incredible 0% balance transfer for 16 months with a balance transfer charge of 2.98%. The Virgin Money Credit Card also offers 0% on purchases for 3 months; free purchase protection insurance; free travel accident insurance; and access to the Virgin discount scheme which offers discounts of the range of products available from Virgin including Holidays, balloon flights, and media packages.

Virgin Money is part of the Virgin family, the well-known brain child of British entrepreneur Richard Branson. Starting with a small record shop in Oxford Street, London in the 1970s, the Virgin group has developed into a global company with interests in flights, television, radio, music, cinemas, experience days, trains, drinks and space travel. The Virgin Money Credit card was launched in 2002 and has won a raft of industry awards and according to Virgin Money became one of the fastest growing credit cards in the UK when it reached 200,000 customers in January 2003. Virgin’s website states that it has created more than 200 branded companies worldwide, employs 50,000 people in 29 countries and in 2008 had global revenues that exceeded £11 billion.
