Life Assurance


Tax relief was available to individuals in respect of premiums paid under qualifying policies of life assurance issued in respect of contracts made prior to 13/3/1984. For policies issued before that date, Life Assurance Premium Relief (LAPR) is still available at the rate of 12.5% on premiums up to £1500 or one-sixth of the payer's total income.
