What is Moneyextra?
Moneyextra is the award winning website from AWD plc., one of the UK and Europe's leading independent financial advisers helping private individuals, companies and their employees make the most of their money.
Further details about Moneyextra can be found here.
How can I best view Moneyextra?
Browsers:
Moneyextra is best viewed with Netscape Navigator 6.0 or above and Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 or above with JavaScript enabled. Some older browsers e.g. Cello or specialist browsers like AOL or Firefox will not always work well. The most likely pages to cause you trouble are interactive services like our comparison tools and the Moneyextra Portfolio. If you do find yourself having any trouble using our site, please e-mail us - we can almost certainly help. We also recommend that if you are using browsers less than version 4.0 you should seriously contemplate upgrading to the latest version. The most popular browsers - Microsoft's Internet Explorer and Netscape's Navigator - are free to download and are also on most CD-ROMs given away with popular computer magazines. Upgrading will not only improve your time on Moneyextra but will also improve your enjoyment of the internet as a whole.
Display sizes:
To view the Moneyextra site without scrolling horizontally you need to use a minimum resolution of 800 x 600 (regardless of monitor size). The site is best viewed in a 1024 x 768 screen resolution.
Assuming you are using a Microsoft Windows operating system you can change your screen resolution to either 1024 x 768 or 800 x 600 as follows:
- Click on the 'Start' button.
- Select 'Settings'.
- Select 'Control Panel'.
- When the Control Panel window opens double click the 'Display' icon.
- Click the 'Settings' tab and move the slider to the desired resolution.
- Click 'OK' (twice, if it appears a second time in a warning window).
It may be necessary to restart your computer (or just Windows) in order for the change to take place; this will depend on the operating system you are using.
A word of caution:
Please ensure your monitor / display adapter can display the resolution you have selected. If you select too high a resolution Windows will not be able to start (or if it does you may not be able to see anything). If this should occur use Safe mode in order to correct the problem. Please consult your Windows manual or Help topics for further information.

Is your website secure?
We take your security very seriously. Parts of our service require registration and a password to access your details again. Furthermore, you will see the padlock symbol at the bottom of the page when you access a secure site.
How do I find an EPIC code?
An EPIC code is a three or more character code that is used to denote any particular traded share. Any such code is unique to that particular share.
You can look up an EPIC code by using the 'Financial Data' function on the Homepage. This is a facility with which you may either search for a particular share or fund, from where you can then get the information you need (see below), or list one of a number of indices (e.g. FTSE 100), where you can then find the particular company you need information on.
How can I find prices, graphs and other information on a particular company or fund?
Enter the name, part of name or EPIC code in the 'Financial Data' facility and press 'Go'. If there is more than one result, you will be presented with a list; in which case select the correct entry using the radio button next to it and then click the "draw chart" button at the bottom of the page.
An added feature of the graphing page may be found by clicking on the blue link 'Company News' at the top right of this page. This will take you to a page where you can view all company announcements that have been released recently.
If you have registered and signed in to the website, click on the graph to see the day's price movements. From here you can also customise the graph by changing the timescale displayed and compare its performance against a variety of indices, sectors or other companies.
Do you offer a share trading service?
Yes! Moneyextra Sharedealing offers the low trading price of £15 per trade of any size. However, frequent traders may benefit from rates as low as £8.50 per trade. Further details on Moneyextra Sharedealing can be found here.
Why do I see old data on the page?
When viewing a page on our website, check that the date at the top of the screen appears correct and/or your Portfolio says it has been updated recently. If either of these dates is old, it is most likely that you are viewing a "cached" page. A 'cached' page is an old snap shot of the web site your computer is showing rather than an up to date one. Cached pages allow you to view pages much quicker as you are not downloading all the details on each web page each time. Holding down the Ctrl key and hitting the F5 key will usually rectify this problem, as it forces your computer's browser to perform a complete refresh rather than use any cached version that may be present.
Can I advertise on your website?
We offer a full range of advertising opportunities, whether or not your business is of a financial nature. Further details on advertising opportunities can be found here.
